More about Suzanne Tkach, Owner & Innovator of Tkach Metal Forming Consultants

I understand the demands placed on forged and cold formed parts manufacturers. I have wide range of hands-on experience including process definition, process design, and production trials. Prior to launching my company, which focusses on assembling the right team of professionals for each project, I managed capital projects, engineering, and product development at a leading international automotive components manufacturer. I oversaw the introduction of warm forging at the Columbus, Ohio facility which included technology transfer from Germany, equipment installation, and manufacturing process development. I have been using finite element modeling technology for forming simulations since 1997, and now provide DEFORM™ finite element simulation services for the full range of metal forming processes. My in-depth software skills, comprehensive knowledge, and hands-on experience with metal forming, results in fast, accurate simulations.

I am also a writer, editor, trainer, and speaker. I edited the book “Forging Technologies for the Automotive Industry” and have taught technical drawing and specification interpretation classes for shop floor workers. My speaking experience includes technical presentations to groups ranging from Aerospace conferences to lubrication workshops, and I have been a keynote speaker at industry forums, professional organization events, and a guest lecturer at Ohio University, Wittenberg University, and The Ohio State University. With a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (BSChE) and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME), I have a professional understanding of how processing sequences can impact the quality and performance of final products.

Paying it forward… developing future forging professionals.

I believe in advancing the art of metal forming, not just through technology, but by inspiring students and young professionals. I find it very rewarding to help develop educational opportunities for better research and development. I also enjoy my work in advocacy for the forging industry by participating in the Annual Forging Industry Association Lobby Days in Washington, DC. Through meetings with our Congressmen, we bring awareness to the critical nature of the forging industry and the issues and policies affecting it.
